+An exquisite pair of antique Victorian coral drop earrings from the mid-Victorian era (Circa 1860). The pair consists of two round and two teardrop shaped coral with desirable salmon pink/ orange colouring and a smooth, polished finish.
Coral is made naturally in the depths of the ocean by tiny marine invertebrate known as polyp. They were believed to bring peace and protection, exhibiting fiery shades of pink, orange and red, making them a colourful alternative to other ocean treasures such as pearls.
